Hassan Qashqavi, spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, responded to the common analyses regarding Iran-US relations in an interview and pointed out the inaccuracies of some of these analyses. He emphasized that past experiences show that negotiating and reaching an agreement with the USA does not necessarily lead to a reduction in pressures.

Inaccuracies of Economic and Political Analyses

Qashqavi pointed out that analyses suggesting that Americans are only after business and will reduce pressures if their economic interests are met are incorrect. He stated: "This analysis did not turn out to be correct." He also addressed the notion that if Iran reaches an agreement with the USA, pressures will decrease. He deemed this claim incorrect as well, stating that past experiences have refuted this theory.

Experiences from Past Negotiations

The spokesperson for the National Security Commission referred to high-level negotiations that have taken place between Iran and the USA, stating: "In Islamabad, our head of power and the Vice President of the USA were present in negotiations, and all topics were on the table. However, ultimately, these negotiations could not lead to a sustainable and reliable outcome." He emphasized that high-level negotiations alone cannot solve problems and must be conducted within a political and secure framework.

Military Analysis and Balance of Power

Qashqavi also referred to the military balance between Iran and the USA, stating: "Today, many think tanks believe that a relative military balance has been established." He pointed out the military expenditures of the USA and Iran, noting that despite the very high military costs of the USA, Iran's initiatives in artificial intelligence and asymmetric methods have neutralized the effects of military attacks. According to Qashqavi, even a report from the New York Times confirms this reality that the USA cannot easily defeat Iran.

Conclusion

Ultimately, Qashqavi emphasized that negotiation and diplomacy with the USA require more precision and examination. He stated: "This experience has shown that diplomacy and dialogue cannot solely lead to positive outcomes, and various aspects of this relationship must be considered." Qashqavi's analyses indicate that to resolve political and economic issues with the USA, other methods must also be considered, and we should not rely solely on negotiations.
